Our mosaics are handmade from natural Ukrainian amber and Italian smalt.
The most intricate of our artworks, Our Holy Temple, requires three months of meticulous handcrafting. However, all of our pieces require extensive work, with our artisans pouring their hearts and souls into each one.
Before the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the workshop where Shtern Amber Collection mosaics were created was nestled in the picturesque town of Bucha, on the outskirts of Kyiv. It was in this serene setting that our beautiful and meaningful mosaics were crafted, each designed to glorify G-d through their beauty.
Tragically, the mosaic and amber workshop in Bucha was destroyed, and the father of one of our colleagues was killed by Russian invaders. We were deeply wounded, but we held onto our dreams and have now fully restored our workshop in Bucha. Production has resumed, and we are once again creating our exquisite pieces.
We don’t have a large number of works; each new art piece is carefully thought out and takes between 3 to 6 months to design and develop.
In addition, during this time, we have designed and produced four new works, adding to our collection of unique mosaics. We have inventory available both in the U.S. and Ukraine, ensuring that our beautiful mosaics, crafted from Ukrainian amber, continue to reach those who appreciate their unique beauty and symbolism. And the beautiful town of Bucha is being rebuilt.
